Nyaight of the Living Cat anime revealed a new trailer, key visual, and voice cast, as well as a July 6 premiere date. Studio OLM ( streaming the anime, while you can check out the new information below.
New Trailer and Key Art
THE YELLOW MONKEY performs the opening theme song “CAT CITY,” while rock band WANIMA performs the ending theme song “Matatabi.” The music features contributions from composer Koji Endo, guitarist Marty Friedman, and Heidi Shepherd of Butcher Babies on “death voice,” with lyrics by Ayuko Saito. Nyaight of the Living Cat has also been selected for screening at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, running from July 16 to August 3. Episodes 3 and 4 will premiere at the festival ahead of their streaming and broadcast release. In addition, a special screening of Episode 1 will take place at Anime Expo in Los Angeles on July 3, hosted on the Crunchyroll Stage.

Night of the Living Cat (Nyaito obu za Ribingu Kyatto), also known as Nyaight of the Living Cat, is a Japanese manga series written by Hawkman and illustrated by Mecha-Roots. It has been serialized in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Garden magazine since October 2020, with six volumes released as of February 21, 2025. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English. They describe the story:
The horror/comedy is set in a world where a certain virus spread all over the world and turned almost everyone into cats. The main character, Kunagi, has a vast knowledge about cats but doesn’t anything about his own past. With the virus spreading through simple cuddles, he has to find the willpower to resist and try to survive as a human.
